Everybody Wants To Be A Cowboy~Gene Burnett

More fun with lip-synching and hats...see my playlist called "Hat Tricks" for the rest. I wrote this song as sort of a satire of modern country music. The lyrics are just a string of country music clichés that make no sense except as a kind of free-form absurd poetry. But to my surprise it was totally fun to sing and I started to see why people like this kind of music. I mean aside from the money, worship and power...It's just really fun to sing. It's like you get to give your cerebral cortex a spa vacation without having to fall asleep. I still vastly prefer Hank Williams (1 & 3), and almost any old-time traditional country music, in fact almost any kind of music period to the Top 40 country music I hear every time I go into a bank. But I can see better now why people like it. I generally like songs to make sense, but for some reason I really like this one. The song is from my album "Too Busy To Worry" and, like all of my songs, it's available for downloading free or with a donation at www.GeneBurnett.com It's also available at iTunes and CD Baby and other e-retailers of music, where it might be faster and easier to find...but it'll cost you a buck.
